You can’t rest on your laurels when you are at the only international airport in Europe’s youngest nation.

The journey of Limak Kosovo International Airport J.S.C. (hereafter LKIA) was shaped in the year of 2011, when it took the operation and management of Prishtina International Airport "Adem Jashari".

In a period of 10 years, Limak Kosovo International Airport J.S.C became one of the most advanced airports of the region. Compared to 2011 the year it took the management and operation of the airport, it had an increase in passengers' number over 100% , by continuing its increase up to over 3.4 million passengers in 2023.

As one of the most advanced airports, LKIA built the new terminal in 2013 with the newest technology of the time. Committed to use the best environmental practices and particularly work closely with airport business and partners, and accelerate the rate of footprint reduction, it became one of the Carbon Emission Neutral Airports.

Its investment did not stop there and then. It continued with the investment on its runway by expanding it from 2500 to 3040 meters, upgrading to category III B. The investment is a total of 150.000.000 EUR until now, whereas in terms of fees, LKIA contributed to the state of Republic of Kosova 160.000.000 EUR up to now.
